Welcome
Yo-yo dieting and a preoccupation with food are nothing new in our culture, however disordered eating can make people feel miserable, out of control, as though they have no willpower and have 'failed'. Disordered eating covers an array of irregular behaviours with food. The 4 week masterclass looks at addressing disordered eating and unhealthy habits to put you back in control.
Is your relationship with food out of control?
Are you trapped in an over-eat, starve, guilt, over-eat cycle?
Can you tell the difference between emotional and physical hunger?
Do you want to get to the bottom of why your relationship with food and your body is so difficult?
If so I can help.
Lockdown and the current pandemic situation has heightened anxiety. When we are stressed our relationship with food can sometimes go awry. We often know what we 'should' be eating but bridging that gap between our intentions and actions can be tricky. The masterclass will help you to understand what's happening and let go of your unhealthy eating habits to gain control over your eating.

Weight Management
One to one sessions focus on your nutrition amongst other things such as your mindset, emotions, habits and behaviours that have lead to you gaining weight over the years. Once these patterns are established through therapy we can unlock these unhelpful ways of being with food so that you can lose weight and keep it off.
Powerful cravings can emerge as a result of abnormal blood sugar highs and lows which can lead you to wanting something else to eat even after a big meal.
When blood sugar falls too fast your brain thinks there is a famine, it slows your metabolism right down, which can cause you to feel exhausted and makes you gain weight easily.
6 things you can start doing now to help you lose weight
2 Get enough quality sleep. A good nights sleep is so important to helping stabilise your metabolism. When we are tired our brain signals to us that we are hungry so that it can get enough fuel in it’s tired state to make it through the day. The brain is the biggest user of glucose in the body and therefore you are predisposed to reach for fatty sugary foods when tired. A good nights sleep can make all the difference when making your food choices the next day.
3 De clutter. Having a cluttered workspace or home has been scientifically proven to chip away at your willpower this is because subconscious brain is constantly processing the mess and all the jobs left undone. De-cluttering allows your brain to rest and means that you are more likely to be able to resist the eating foods that won’t help you lose weight.
4 Start noticing your thoughts. Being able to identify when a craving is happening and why is very powerful. Your thoughts lead you into action. If you can notice when bingeing thoughts start to happen you can nip them in the bud by accepting that
5 Stimulus control. Having sugary fatty foods in the house is setting yourself up to fail as you are relying on willpower alone not to eat them. Then when you do the guilt and negative self talk begins. Remove these foods from the house and replace them with more wholesome alternatives.
6 Eat enough good quality protein. Quality protein like chicken, turkey, soya and seitan contain essential amino acids that your body needs in order to function well. Protein keeps you fuller for longer so you are less likely to snack in between meals. Structured eating and eating enough are key to successful weight loss along with habit and behaviour change.
All these things and more are explained through one on one therapy where you receive counselling-coaching treatment to help you lose weight and feel happier with your body.
An Approach that Works
One of the key things that doesn't work is a reliance on rules and willpower alone which is an approach typical in the diet industry. The problem with this is it ignores several important complex factors.
You may:
- Eat for emotional reasons (we all do sometimes)
- Have psychological barriers to weight loss and maintenance (many people do)
- Have had physiological responses to repeated cycles of dieting and weight gain (many dieters do)
- Lack the information and tools to maintain a healthy weight after dieting (most people lack these)
I will help you to move to a happier relationship with food, eating and weight, using a more holistic approach
The four key elements to weight management are: - Mindset change
- Emotional support
- Accurate knowledge about food and the body
- Tools to bring back balance to your life
I will help you so that you can make sustainable changes to your weight and wellbeing.

Food, Eating, Weight and Size Matters
If your quality of life is impacted by worries about your weight, an endless cycle of dieting or an unhappy relationship with food and your body, I can help.
I often see people who have dieted for years, losing weight and putting it back on, who don't understand why they keep yo-yo-ing. The mind controls everything, and without fundamental changes to your mindset and nutrition the cycle of weight loss followed by weight gain will continue.

Binge Eaters - Get help now
This leads to fat cells in your body siphoning out the glucose too quickly which means that your blood sugar level drops which doesn’t leave enough levels for your brain and leads to you feeling hungry very soon after eating. The brain then released emergency chemicals which make you feel unsettled and anxious and can lead to you having a headache. To get out of this state where you feel unsettled anxious and headache-y you reach for sugar and fatty products which starts the process all over again.
